Description

Glass resistance thermometer ø3/6 × 250 mm with 0,01 °C resolution is a laboratory Pt100 sensor for precise temperature measurement in research and quality-control work. Built to DIN EN 60751 Class A in four-wire technique, it combines glass construction with Class A accuracy for stable readings. The glass shaft is 6 mm in diameter and narrows to 3 mm at the sensing tip, giving a slender immersion profile while retaining a robust upper section. Ring marks on the shaft follow the immersion depths of standardised precision glass thermometers, supporting reproducible placement in baths, vessels, and apparatus. A stainless-steel transition sleeve permanently joins a 2 m Teflon/silicone-insulated connecting cable; the cable exit is secured with heat-shrink tubing for strain relief. The working range covers −50 °C to +250 °C. Connection is via a Physics plug offering 0,01 °C resolution and compatibility with PHYSICS 100 and PHYSICS 300 instruments. This assembly (WT-GL-3/6-303) from manufacturer Schneider is supplied as a single piece for direct laboratory instrument connection wherever glass Pt100 sensors are specified.

This article is part of Laboratory glass thermometers, in Temperature measurement.

What is this article?

PT100 RESISTANCE THERMOMETER OF GLASS, (N16B) Assembly: WT-GL-3/6-303-250-2000 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Schneider for laboratory use. It sits in Laboratory glass thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column, often with a stated immersion depth, total or partial. The range and the division decide the reading. A partial-immersion thermometer read at the wrong depth is wrong by design.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
