Description

Quartz microfibre filter Grade Q3400 is a high-purity filtration medium made entirely from quartz microfibres for demanding laboratory and environmental applications. The grade is heat-pretreated to deliver excellent weight constancy and dimensional stability under thermal load. These filters are particularly well suited to emission control at temperatures up to 900 °C and to workflows that place the highest purity demands on the filter medium itself. Trace-element analysis is carried out for every production batch and is documented with a certificate of analysis, supporting low-blank gravimetric and analytical work. Offered as a pack of 25 filters with 45 mm diameter, Grade Q3400 from manufacturer Sartorius provides a pure quartz-fibre matrix for high-temperature sampling, stack and process monitoring, and related laboratory filtration tasks where mass stability and structural integrity are essential. The heat-treated construction helps maintain consistent dimensions and weight behaviour during elevated-temperature use, enabling reliable sample collection and subsequent analysis in emission and purity-critical environments.

This article is part of Glass & quartz fibre filters, in Filtration.

Questions about Quartz microfiber filters Q3400

What is this article?

Quartz microfiber filters Q3400 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Glass & quartz fibre filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

Glass-fibre and quartz-fibre filters are depth filters with a high dirt load, used for air sampling, for total suspended solids and in front of a membrane. They have no sharp pore-size cutoff the way a membrane does. Binderless grades matter when the filter will be weighed or heated.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
