Description

SenTix® 41 is a plastic pH electrode with gel electrolyte and an integrated temperature sensor, equipped with a waterproof DIN connector plus banana plug and a 1 m cable. Simultaneous pH and temperature acquisition enables automatic temperature compensation on compatible meters, improving accuracy across varying sample temperatures. The gel electrolyte minimises maintenance, while the plastic shaft and sealed DIN interface support reliable use in laboratory and light process environments. This electrode comes from manufacturer WTW - a Xylem brand and forms part of the SenTix® range intended for aqueous samples in research, quality control and routine analytical work. Supplied as a single unit with a net weight of about 0,162 kg, it combines gel filling, built-in temperature sensing and dual connector arrangement for straightforward connection to WTW instruments. The design is practical for benchtop measurements where both pH and temperature data are required from one probe without separate temperature sensors.

What is this article?

SenTix® 41, Epoxy pH combination electrode with gel electrolyte, integrated temp is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes WTW - a Xylem brand for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
