Description

Vivaspin 6, 300.000 MWCO PES is a centrifugal crossflow spin filter for fast ultrafiltration and diafiltration (UF/DF) of laboratory samples. It combines a PES membrane rated at 300.000 molecular weight cut-off with a working range for feed volumes from 0,1 to 98 mL. Concentration factors of up to 400× are achievable with a single filter, enabling effective sample concentration and buffer exchange. Common applications cover ultrafiltration, diafiltration and polishing in protein chemistry, biochemistry and broader life-science sample preparation. This pack of 100 pieces supports higher-throughput or multi-user laboratories and is supplied non-sterile. The Vivaspin 6 line from manufacturer Sartorius provides the original crossflow spin-filter design for rapid UF/DF across small to intermediate volumes. Net pack weight is 1,430 kg. The 300.000 MWCO membrane is appropriate when retaining larger species while allowing smaller solutes to pass during concentration or desalting. Units integrate into standard benchtop centrifuge methods and simplify concentration and purification without dedicated tangential-flow systems.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Vivaspin 6, 300kDa PES, 100pc

What is this article?

Vivaspin 6, 300kDa PES, 100pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
