RC 5 basic is a powerful recirculating chiller designed for external cooling tasks down to −30 °C. Its demand-controlled refrigeration circuit uses the climate-friendly natural refrigerant R290 and delivers high energy efficiency together with a compact footprint, helping laboratories reduce both energy consumption and bench space. A speed-controlled pressure and suction pump manufactured from PEEK allows indirect, stepless adjustment of maximum pressure and flow rate (0,6 bar; 31 l/min). Excellent temperature stability of ± 0,1 K at −10 °C supports demanding applications. The high-quality insulated 7 l tank incorporates an integrated filling funnel and a drain valve; a hose is simply connected for emptying so that the operator never contacts the thermal fluid directly. An easily opened front flap provides convenient access for cleaning the air filter of the refrigeration unit. Cooling capacity reaches 1400 W at 20 °C; the working range extends from −30 °C to room temperature, with an expanded operating range up to 80 °C. A digital fill-level display and RS 232 plus USB interfaces complete the unit from manufacturer IKA, supplied as a single piece.
