Contrairement aux douilles DIN 12249 Form E plus fines, la version DG présente un rodage plus grossier avec une profondeur de rugosité plus grande et sert d'alternative économique pour de nombreuses applications de laboratoire. La douille est fabriquée en verre borosilicaté 3.3 et est conçue pour être utilisée avec de la graisse pour rodages ou des manchons PTFE afin d'obtenir une étanchéité serrée ; les pinces pour joints coniques KECK™ apportent une sécurité supplémentaire.
