Description

LabSen 801 pH electrode is designed specifically for pH measurement of pure water, including drinking water and distilled water. Produced with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from APERA Instruments, it employs a LabSen L-type cylindrical glass membrane that is up to 10 times more robust than conventional membranes and offers very low resistance suited to low ionic strength samples. Blue gel electrolyte does not flow and does not generate air bubbles. An adjustable sleeve controls electrolyte infiltration rate, while a silver-ion trap helps prevent blockage by silver sulphide. The lead-free glass shaft houses a durable reference arrangement. Measuring range is 0 to 11 pH with recommended operating temperatures of 0 to 80 °C; storage solution is 3 M KCl. Electrode dimensions are Ø12 × 130 mm. A BNC connector with Ø3 mm × 1 m cable ensures compatibility with Apera Instruments meters such as PH850, PC850, PH700, PH910 and related BNC models. No temperature sensor is integrated; automatic temperature compensation requires a separate probe (for example MP500) or manual temperature entry. The electrode is supplied as a single piece.

Questions about LabSen®801 Professional Combination pH Electrode for Purified Water

What is this article?

LabSen®801 Professional Combination pH Electrode for Purified Water is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in électrodes pH & capteurs, inside pH & électrochimie, in Instruments de laboratoire.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
