Description
Nalgene™ Metric Phthalate-Free PVC Tubing is transparent laboratory-grade flexible tubing intended to form a leak-tight connection with metric fittings. It is produced from high-quality resins and orthophthalate-free plasticizers to support purity and quality expectations in the lab. This size offers an inner diameter of 0,20 in, an outer diameter of 0,31 in and a wall thickness of 1,5 mm, supplied as one 25 m length per pack. Polyvinylchloride (PVC) construction provides Durometer 60 (A) hardness with a recommended bend radius of four times the outer diameter. Maximum pressure is 234 kPa at 23 °C and 117 kPa at 51 °C; the maximum operating temperature is 71 °C and the vacuum level is rated very low. The tubing is autoclavable and compatible with gas or chemical sterilisation. Compliance statements cover FDA CFR21 food packaging, USP VI, cytotoxicity, REACH, latex-free status, RoHS and California Proposition 65. Offered in the Nalgene range from Thermo Scientific, it is suited to everyday laboratory transfer duties requiring phthalate-free PVC tubing.

Questions about Nalgene™ Metric Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Metric Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Tuyaux PVC, PTFE & autres, inside Tubes, tuyaux et raccords, in Matériel de laboratoire.
PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
