Description
Nalgene™ metric phthalate-free PVC tubing is transparent laboratory-grade flexible tubing intended for a leak-tight fit with metric fittings. Fabricated from high-quality resins and orthophthalate-free plasticisers, it defines purity and quality expectations for laboratory fluid lines. Dimensions are inner diameter 0,35 in., outer diameter 0,51 in. and wall thickness 2,0 mm, supplied as one continuous 25 m length per unit. Hardness is Durometer 60 (A), and the bend radius is four times the outer diameter, supporting flexible routing without kinking under normal handling. Maximum working pressure is 193 kPa at 23 °C and 96 kPa at 51 °C; maximum operating temperature is 71 °C. Vacuum level is rated very low. Autoclave, gas and chemical sterilisation methods are applicable. This tubing from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics complies with FDA CFR21 food-packaging requirements plus USP Class VI, cytotoxicity, REACH, latex-free, RoHS and California Proposition 65 criteria. It is suited to routine laboratory transfer, sampling and process connections where phthalate-free metric PVC hose is specified.
This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ Metric Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Metric Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Tuyaux PVC, PTFE & autres, inside Tubes, tuyaux et raccords, in Matériel de laboratoire.
PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
