UTTD basic IVD Solution is a powerful universal dispersing drive designed for microbiological and molecular biological analysis of patient samples. Homogeneous comminution and disruption of tissue, cartilage and bone specimens is an essential preparatory step before analysis, and this system addresses both thorough sample breakdown and contamination control. Combined with patented single-use plastic vessels from manufacturer IKA, the ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive agitates ten stainless-steel balls (5 mm) inside each tube via a wobble rod at up to 3000 rpm, reliably reducing the sample or detaching tissue from bone so that any microorganisms pass into the liquid phase. The specially developed IVD sample tubes are supplied single- or double-sterile packed and pre-filled with 5 ml of 0,90 % saline solution. Working volume is 5–15 ml in a 20 ml vessel fitted with a pierceable membrane lid. Samples can be introduced under sterile conditions in the operating theatre, transported hermetically sealed, and processed directly on the drive in the laboratory without additional mechanical preparation, systematically excluding cross-contamination. The included BMT-20-S-IVD disposable tubes are an in-vitro diagnostic product according to Directive 98/79/EC, manufactured to ISO 13485:2016 and approved for all EU countries. Maximum processing time per tube is 1 min; the procedure must be validated by the user.
