De Romer Labs Sponge-Stick is een 3″ x 1.5″ (7.5 cm x 3.5 cm) gecomprimeerde cellulosesponge bevestigd aan een snel-losmaakgreep, voorvocht met 10 ml buffer naar keuze en individueel verpakt in een monsterzakje (Twirl-Tie™). De snel-losmaakgreep biedt een extra niveau van gemak en betrouwbaarheid. Het is ontworpen om de sponge na monstername in het monsterzakje los te maken, zodat alleen de sponge naar het laboratorium wordt teruggestuurd. Onnodige onderdelen die de monsterbewerking kunnen verstoren, worden zo geëlimineerd.
