Description

4-Neck flask, 5000 ml, centre neck NS 45/40, 3x side necks NS 29/32 angled is a multi-neck laboratory flask designed for demanding reaction, distillation and multi-component laboratory work. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3, it delivers excellent chemical durability and resistance to thermal shock under typical laboratory heating and cooling regimes. The centre neck carries a standard ground joint NS 45/40; the three side necks are NS 29/32 joints set at a 7° angle to facilitate convenient attachment of stirrers, condensers, addition funnels or sensors. Nominal volume is 5 l and net weight is 1,450 kg. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Rettberg, the flask functions effectively as a round-bottom flask, distillation flask or receiving flask. The four-neck arrangement permits concurrent operations including mechanical stirring, reagent dosing, inert-gas blanketing and temperature control, supporting efficient workflows in organic synthesis and preparative chemistry. High-precision ground joints guarantee secure, leak-free mating with compatible glassware for safe and reproducible results.

Questions about 4-neck flask, 5000 ml, mn size 45/40, 3x sn size 29/32 (7°)

What is this article?

4-neck flask, 5000 ml, mn size 45/40, 3x sn size 29/32 (7°) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Rettberg for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
