Description

Angle valve stopcock PRODURAN® with a passage of 0–4 mm is a precision laboratory component for fine dosing and regulation of gases and liquids. A height-adjustable spindle with integrated fine thread permits the finest setting of the valve opening. Combined with thick-walled connections, the valve is high-vacuum suitable and well suited for incorporation into glass apparatus used in vacuum work, including Schlenk lines, vacuum-inert gas lines and nitrogen distribution manifolds. The composite construction of DURAN® glass, metal and plastics ensures that media flowing through the valve contact only DURAN® glass and PTFE, enabling grease-free operation on the polished stopcock surface. Manufactured by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the handy design is easy to loosen and dismantle; an anti-unscrew safeguard prevents complete withdrawal of the valve pin, while the adjustable pin itself extends service life. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3, this glass article is intended for further processing in laboratory vacuum systems and offers reliable control in demanding inert-gas and high-vacuum applications.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about 90° Valve, PRODURAN®

What is this article?

90° Valve, PRODURAN® is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
