Description
Portable pH/°C meter HI99141 is a waterproof handheld instrument designed for pH and temperature measurements in boilers and cooling towers. It is supplied with the robust stainless-steel electrode HI729113 (Quick-DIN, 1 m cable), featuring a flat contact sensor and annular PTFE diaphragm that helps reduce fouling by dissolved solids. The meter covers pH from −2,0 to 16,0 (or −2,00 to 16,00) with resolutions of 0,1 or 0,01 and accuracy of ±0,02 or ±0,1 pH, plus automatic one- or two-point calibration with standard buffer sets. Temperature is measured from −5,0 to 105,0 °C with automatic compensation. An mV range of ±825 mV is also available. The IP67-rated housing, large multilevel LCD, electrode-condition indicator and simple two-button operation support reliable use in demanding environments. Power comes from three 1,5 V AAA batteries for about 1400 hours of continuous use, with optional auto-off. Unit dimensions are 154 mm × 63 mm × 30 mm at 196 g. The complete kit from manufacturer Hanna Instruments includes starter calibration and cleaning solutions, batteries, manual, quality certificate and a sturdy carrying case.

Questions about Boiler and Cooling Tower pH Portable Meter
What is this article?
Boiler and Cooling Tower pH Portable Meter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
