Description

BOLA centrifugal stirrer shaft, L 450 mm, shaft diameter 8 mm and outer blade span aØ 90 mm, is a PTFE-coated stainless-steel stirrer shaft for laboratory mixing under chemically aggressive conditions. The stainless-steel shaft carries a full PTFE coating, and the stirring assembly—movable spreading blade, pin and blade holder—is manufactured completely from PTFE, ensuring that only PTFE contacts the medium and providing universal chemical resistance. The spreading blade opens with rising rotational speed, delivering effective centrifugal agitation. Specified dimensions are length 450 mm, shaft diameter 8 mm, clamping diameter 6,5 mm and blade measures A–B–C of 90 – 17 – 2,5 mm; net weight is 0,15 kg. Offered as one piece from manufacturer Bohlender, the shaft is intended for vessels and drive systems that accept an 8 mm shaft and 6,5 mm clamp interface. Its inert wetted surfaces make it suitable for solvents, acids and other reagents where metal contact must be avoided.

What is this article?

BOLA Centrifugal Stirrer Shafts, L 450 mm Ø 8 mm aØ 90 mm PTFE-coated STAINLESS is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
