Description

BOLA cap seals for GL 45 threads are laboratory sealing elements with a diameter of 43,2 mm and a thickness of approximately 3,3 mm. The upper face is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), while the underside consists of a silicone elastomer that compensates for unevenness on the sealing surface. In use, the medium contacts only the PTFE side, supporting chemically resistant sealing at bottle and vessel necks with GL 45 threads. These dual-layer seals are intended for laboratory glassware and process setups where reliable closure and chemical inertness at the wetted surface are required. Supplied from manufacturer Bohlender, the design combines PTFE chemical resistance with the compliance of silicone on the non-wetted face. Each unit has a net weight of 0,0055 kg. The pack contains 20 pieces, suitable for routine laboratory stocking, replacement of worn seals, and equipping multiple GL 45 vessels. Typical applications include sealing screw-cap bottles, reaction vessels, and storage containers in chemical, analytical, and life-science laboratories where PTFE contact with the medium is preferred.

Questions about BOLA Gaskets for caps, GL 45, Ø 43,2 x 3,3 mm PTFE/silicone

What is this article?

BOLA Gaskets for caps, GL 45, Ø 43,2 x 3,3 mm PTFE/silicone is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
