Description

BOLA Maxi propeller additional blades are solid PTFE stirring elements for matching PTFE stirrer shafts with a 10 mm shaft diameter. Blade dimensions according to the manufacturer drawing are A – B – C = 140 – 20 – 4 mm, giving a large propeller span suited to flexible multi-level mixing setups. The massive stirring blades are made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE); the clamping fixtures are produced from a PEEK compound so that several blades can be fixed torsion-proof at freely chosen height and direction of rotation on compatible BOLA stirrer shafts. A matching open-end wrench (size 19) is included for assembly. Net weight is 0,187 kg. These additional wings from manufacturer Bohlender support propeller, anchor and turbine stirrer configurations where chemical resistance of PTFE and adjustable blade placement are required in laboratory or process vessels. Supplied as a single piece for straightforward extension of existing PTFE shaft assemblies.

This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

What is this article?

BOLA Maxi Propeller Blades, Ø 10 mm a Ø 140 mm for stainless steel shafts jacket is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
