Description

BOLA add-on stirring blades for 8 mm shaft diameter with outer blade dimensions of 80 × 18 mm are solid PTFE mixing elements for laboratory stirring shafts. The massive stirring blades are manufactured from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), while the clamping fixtures are made from a PEEK compound. Several blades can be mounted torsion-proof on matching BOLA stirring shafts, with height and rotation direction freely selectable via the clamp fastening. A matching open-end spanner is supplied for assembly. Dimensional scheme values A – B – C are 80 – 18 – 4 mm, with spanner size 15, for shafts of 8 mm diameter. These accessories from manufacturer Bohlender support flexible multi-level stirring setups for propeller, anchor and turbine-style applications where PTFE chemical resistance is required. Net weight is 0,105 kg. Supplied as 1 piece, the add-on blade is intended for PTFE stirring shafts with metal core and allows secure, adjustable placement along the shaft without twisting under load during mixing operations.

What is this article?

BOLA Paddle, Ø 8 mm a Ø 80 x 18 mm for stainless steel shafts jacketed with PTFE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
