Description

BOLA screw-in hose olives NPT 1/4" Ø 9 mm PTFE are straight PTFE connectors that join elastic laboratory tubing to a threaded port. One olive accepts flexible hoses such as Viton®, Tygon® or silicone, while the opposite end carries an NPT 1/4 screw-in thread for mounting into apparatus or fittings. The medium contacts only PTFE, providing universal chemical resistance for laboratory reagents and solvents. Stated dimensions are an overall length of 22 mm, a through-bore of 5,8 mm, an olive outer diameter of 9,0 mm and a wrench size of 15 mm for controlled installation. Supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,01 kg, the fitting suits sampling lines, transfer setups and general laboratory plumbing where an inert, non-metallic wetted path is required. Produced by manufacturer Bohlender, these BOLA screw-in olives combine a secure threaded interface with a reliable hose olive, supporting clean fluid connections in chemically demanding environments without introducing metal into the flow path.

Questions about BOLA Screw-In Tubing Connectors, NPT 1/4'' Ø 9 mm PTFE

What is this article?

BOLA Screw-In Tubing Connectors, NPT 1/4'' Ø 9 mm PTFE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
