Description

BOLA distillation head in SAFE LAB design combines two NS 29/32 ground joint cores with a vertical thermometer port for laboratory distillation setups. The upright connection uses a flexible PTFE/silicone seal and a PPS screw cap to fix thermometers with an outer diameter of 7 to 8 mm, keeping the sensor aligned in the vapour path. A side joint angle of 90° supports compact apparatus layouts on the bench. Integrated Combi-nuts (Safe-Lab) on the cone joints allow quick securing and release without tools, which speeds assembly and dismantling between runs. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) construction provides chemical resistance for routine organic work, while the single-piece unit has a net weight of 0,21 kg. Suitable for glassware trains that standardise on NS 29/32 connections, this head from manufacturer Bohlender links flask, condenser path and temperature measurement in one compact fitting. It serves distillation and related thermal separation tasks where a dual NS 29/32 PTFE head with a sealed 7–8 mm thermometer port and SAFE LAB locking is required.

This article is part of Distillation heads, adapters & columns, in Distillation & extraction glassware.

Questions about BOLA Stillheads, 2x NS 29/32 Ø 10 mm PTFE, with SAFE LAB-system

What is this article?

BOLA Stillheads, 2x NS 29/32 Ø 10 mm PTFE, with SAFE LAB-system is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Distillation heads, adapters & columns, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A still head, an adapter or a column is the glass between the boiling flask and the condenser. A Vigreux or packed column gives the vapour a surface so a closer-boiling mixture can separate. The joint sizes at both ends have to match the flask and the condenser.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
