Description

BOLA standard ground joint stirrer seals NS 45/40 for 16 mm stirrer shafts provide a PTFE sealing interface between a ground joint socket and a larger rotating shaft. The PTFE ground joint core uses raised sealing rings to seal in the socket; the reduced bearing surface of the rings eases release of the core and helps limit glass breakage. Sealing to the shaft is achieved by a special PTFE seal with an FKM O-ring, pressed in a controlled way by a GL screw cap manufactured from PPS. Specified dimensions are European-norm core NS 45/40, shaft diameter 16 mm, overall length approximately 86 mm, and cap thread GL 32. Net weight is 0,222 kg. Available from manufacturer Bohlender, this configuration supports laboratory stirring applications that need chemical-resistant PTFE contact surfaces and a firm yet adjustable shaft seal on NS 45/40 glassware. Supplied as one piece, it is suitable for installation on new apparatus or for replacing existing stirrer closures of the same joint and shaft size.

This article is part of Lids & seals, in Stoppers, caps & closures.

Questions about BOLA Stirrer Bearings, NS 45/40 Ø 16 mm GL 32 PTFE, PTFE/FKM gasket

What is this article?

BOLA Stirrer Bearings, NS 45/40 Ø 16 mm GL 32 PTFE, PTFE/FKM gasket is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Lids & seals, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

Lids and seals are the covers of dishes, jars and tanks: a snap lid, a sealing film, a gasket. The seal is doing the work. A lid that only rests on the rim does not contain a volatile liquid.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
