Description

BOLA anchor stirrer shaft, length 450 mm with shaft diameter 8 mm, is a laboratory stirring component fitted with an anchor blade of outer dimensions 80 x 50 mm. The stainless steel shaft is PTFE-coated and the complete anchor blade is made of PTFE, so the process medium contacts only PTFE and benefits from broad chemical resistance. Chuck diameter is 6,5 mm for secure clamping in standard laboratory stirrer drives. Blade geometry follows the A-B-C-D dimensions 80 - 50 - 30 - 44 mm, supporting effective wall-adjacent mixing of viscous media, suspensions and reaction mixtures. Net weight is 0,175 kg. Material construction centres on polytetrafluoroethylene for the wetted parts, making the shaft suitable for chemically aggressive environments where metal contact must be avoided. This BOLA design from manufacturer Bohlender is intended for use in chemistry, process development and materials laboratories that require inert, non-contaminating agitation hardware. Supplied as a single piece for straightforward integration into existing stirring assemblies and vessel setups.

This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

What is this article?

BOLA U-Shaped Stirrer Shafts, L 450 mm, Ø 8 mm, aØ 80x50 mm PTFE-coated STAINLES is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
