Description

ISE electrode for calcium, half-cell is a polymer-membrane ion-selective half-cell designed for the determination of free calcium in beverages, freshwater and seawater. The epoxy-resin/PVC body supports a measuring range from 1 M to 3 × 10⁻⁶ M, equivalent to 40080 to 0,12 mg/l. Best results are achieved in the pH window 4–10, with an operating temperature range of 0–40 °C. Approximate slope is +28. Connection is made via a 1 m coaxial cable fitted with a BNC plug; the immersion section measures Ø 12 mm × 120 mm. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, this half-cell electrode provides a practical solution for food, beverage and environmental laboratories that require selective free-calcium readings. Net weight is 0,25 kg (gross 1,25 kg), making the sensor easy to integrate into existing electrode sets and storage systems without unnecessary bulk.

Questions about Calcium Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Polymer Membrane

What is this article?

Calcium Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Polymer Membrane is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
