Description

CHROMABOND Flash RS 4 SiOH, 15–40 µm are ready-to-use flash chromatography columns packed with unmodified silica (SiOH) for normal-phase separations. Each unit contains 4 g of irregular silica with a particle-size range of 15–40 µm, offering a practical balance of resolution and flow for laboratory-scale flash purification. The column body is polypropylene and is fitted with polyethylene filter elements to retain the sorbent bed during solvent delivery. These Flash RS 4 cartridges support clean-up and fractionation of organic reaction mixtures, natural-product extracts and synthetic intermediates when silica-based normal-phase conditions are required. Supplied from manufacturer Macherey-Nagel in packs of 20 pieces, they suit method development and routine preparative work where disposable flash columns simplify changeover between samples. The defined 4 g bed mass and 15–40 µm SiOH packing allow reproducible loading and elution behaviour across parallel purifications. Use with compatible flash systems and standard organic mobile phases according to established silica chromatography practice in medicinal chemistry and organic synthesis laboratories.

This article is part of SPE cartridges & columns, in SPE & sample preparation.

Questions about Chromab. Flash RS 4 SiOH, 15-40 µm

What is this article?

Chromab. Flash RS 4 SiOH, 15-40 µm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in SPE cartridges & columns, inside SPE & sample preparation, in Chromatography equipment.

An SPE cartridge holds a bed of sorbent. Bed mass, sorbent chemistry and volume are the specification. A 100 mg C18 cartridge and a 1 g C18 cartridge take different sample loads and different elution volumes. The method names all three.

Solid-phase extraction holds a compound on a sorbent while the rest of the sample is washed away, then releases it in a small volume. The sorbent, the bed mass and the solvents are the method. Silica, ion exchangers and polymer phases do different jobs. A flash column is the same idea scaled toward purification rather than trace cleanup. The molecules are on PubChem, named by IUPAC.
