Description
Compact laboratory balance KERN EWJ 600-2M is a high-quality precision balance with internal automatic adjustment for reliable routine weighing in the laboratory. Time-controlled internal adjustment every 2 hours maintains accuracy and reduces dependence on a fixed installation site. Checkweighing with optical and acoustic feedback supports portioning, dosing and sorting. The consistent KERN control layout places each main function on its own key for comfortable operation. A rising bar-graph capacity display indicates the still-available weighing range. A USB data interface enables transfer of weighing results to a PC, printer or other peripheral. A removable draft shield with weighing space 134 × 128 × 80 mm is fitted as standard, and a protective working cover is included. Net weight is 3,2 kg (gross 3,6 kg). Supplied as one complete unit from manufacturer Kern, this compact model suits laboratory benches where internal adjustment, data output and a clear operating concept are required.

Questions about Compact Laboratory Balance KERN EWJ, 600-2M
What is this article?
Compact Laboratory Balance KERN EWJ, 600-2M is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
