Description
Compact laboratory balance KERN PCD 300-3 is a high-resolution precision balance with a detachable evaluation unit for maximum flexibility in laboratory work. The separate weighing platform makes it ideal for use inside glove boxes or under laboratory fume hoods and is particularly practical when weighing toxic, volatile or contaminated substances. PRE-TARE allows manual pre-deduction of a known container weight, which is useful for fill-quantity checks. A freely programmable weighing unit supports direct display in application-specific measures such as thread length in g/m or paper weight in g/m². A spirit level and adjustable foot screws are supplied as standard for exact levelling and accurate results. A draft shield is included as standard and provides a weighing chamber of 146×146×80 mm (W×D×H); the round weighing pan has a diameter of 105 mm. A protective working cover is part of the delivery scope. This compact laboratory balance from manufacturer Kern is supplied as 1 pc(s) with a net weight of 1,00 kg and a gross weight of 2,4 kg, suited to flexible precision weighing setups.

Questions about Compact Laboratory Balance KERN PCD, 300-3
What is this article?
Compact Laboratory Balance KERN PCD, 300-3 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
