Description

Cryo gloves, mid-forearm length, size XL, are protective handwear for handling materials stored in liquid nitrogen and for work under extreme cold conditions from −120 °C to −190 °C. Designed with a high level of finger freedom, they support precise laboratory handling while remaining water-repellent. The gloves extend roughly to mid-forearm, with a total length of 37 cm, providing additional lower-arm coverage during cryogenic transfers and storage tasks. Each sales unit is one pair of gloves. Supplied from manufacturer Labbox, they meet EN 511 and EN 388 guidelines for cold and mechanical protection. These mid-forearm cryo gloves are suited to research, biobanking and industrial laboratories that need dependable thermal insulation without loss of tactile control when working with ultra-low-temperature samples and equipment. Net weight is 0,208 kg per pair. The XL size accommodates larger hands while retaining the same protective characteristics as the other sizes in this 37 cm cryo glove series.

This article is part of Cryogenic & heat-resistant gloves, in Gloves.

Questions about Cryogenic gloves, up to Mid-arm, XL size, 1 pair

What is this article?

Cryogenic gloves, up to Mid-arm, XL size, 1 pair is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Cryogenic & heat-resistant gloves, inside Gloves, in Lab safety equipment.

Cryogenic gloves insulate the hand against very cold surfaces for a short contact. Heat-resistant gloves do the same against heat. Neither is a chemical glove, and neither replaces tongs for immersion. The temperature and the contact time they were tested for are the specification.

A glove is a barrier on the hand, and the barrier is only as good as the hazard it was tested against. Nitrile, latex and vinyl disposable gloves are for splash and for incidental contact. A chemical-resistant glove is a different article, tested for permeation by named chemicals. A cut-resistant glove is for blades and edges. Cold and heat need yet another material. No one glove does all of these. Glove standards are listed under ISO hand protection. The legal text is the PPE Regulation. Chemical classes are on ECHA CLP. Practice is at EU-OSHA.
