Cuvette for scattered light measurements, 540 is a precision optical cell type 540-QS made from high-performance quartz glass for spectroscopy across 200 nm to 2500 nm. The cuvette has an outer diameter of 10 mm, a path length of 10 mm and a PTFE stopper, with a fill volume of 3,200 µl for controlled sample loading. Hellma® precision cuvettes from manufacturer Hellma (IDL) are manufactured entirely in Germany and are suitable for common spectrophotometers. Thermal bonding instead of adhesive joints gives high resistance to temperature and chemicals and helps prevent unwanted leakage. Selected high-performance quartz glasses provide excellent transmission above 82 % for accurate readings, while bevelled edges support safe handling and reduce chipping risk. Cells can be cleaned and reused as a durable laboratory option. Production follows EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 optical quality standards; a declaration of conformity is available from the Hellma website, with further certificates on request.
