Description
DO850 Oxygen Meter is a portable handheld instrument fitted with an advanced optical sensor for dissolved-oxygen measurements. The optical sensor has no membrane and requires no special solutions, providing a stable reading within 1 to 3 minutes. Sensor lifetime reaches up to 8000 hours of operation; a special coating on the cap protects against external influences and permits measurements independent of ambient light and chemicals. The meter is waterproof and dust-protected to IP57 for reliable work in harsh environments. Dissolved-oxygen range is 0 to 200 % and 0-20,0 mg/l, with resolution 0,1/1 % and 0,01/0,1 mg/l, accuracy ±2 % of reading or ±2 % saturation (whichever is greater), and 90 % response in ≤30 s at 25 °C. Automatic temperature compensation covers 0 to 50 °C, pressure compensation 60 to 120 kPa and manual salinity compensation 0-45 ppt. Temperature measurement spans 0 to 50 °C at 0,1 °C resolution and ±0,5 °C accuracy. Powered by three AA batteries, the complete set from manufacturer APERA Instruments includes the meter, DO803 optical electrode with 3 m cable, calibration cap and robust carrying case. Dimensions are 88×170×33 mm (case 360×270×76 mm) and weight 313 g (1,3 kg with case).

Questions about DO850 Portable Dissolved Oxygen Meter Kit
What is this article?
DO850 Portable Dissolved Oxygen Meter Kit is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
