Description
DO8500 Portable Optical Dissolved Oxygen Meter is a handheld instrument equipped with an advanced optical sensor for dissolved-oxygen measurements. The optical sensor needs no membrane and no special solutions, delivering a stable value in 1 to 3 minutes and offering a lifetime of up to 8000 operating hours. A protective coating on the cap shields the sensor from external influences and allows measurements independent of light and chemicals. Rated IP57, the meter withstands wet and dusty conditions. Dissolved-oxygen range extends from 0 to 200 % and 0-20,0 mg/l with resolution 0,1/1 % and 0,01/0,1 mg/l, accuracy ±2 % of reading or ±2 % saturation (larger value applies), and 90 % response in ≤30 s at 25 °C. Automatic temperature compensation (0 to 50 °C), pressure compensation (60 to 120 kPa) and automatic salinity compensation (0-45 ppt) are built in. Temperature is measured from 0 to 50 °C at 0,1 °C resolution and ±0,5 °C accuracy. The instrument stores 500 data groups with date and time that can be exported via USB. Powered by three AA batteries, the complete set from manufacturer APERA Instruments comprises the meter, DO803 optical electrode, 2301-3M conductivity electrode, calibration cap, electrode clip, USB cable, PC-Link software, spare sponge and robust carrying case. Dimensions are 88×170×33 mm (case 360×270×76 mm) and weight 313 g (1,3 kg with case).

Questions about DO8500 Portable Optical Dissolved Oxygen Meter Kit with Data logger
What is this article?
DO8500 Portable Optical Dissolved Oxygen Meter Kit with Data logger is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
