Description

DURAN® angle valve stopcock ''GU'' is a glass stopcock for regulating liquid and gas flows where moderate leak-rate requirements apply. With a through-passage of 0–6 mm, it incorporates an anti-unscrew safeguard that prevents complete removal of the valve pin, while the readjustable pin extends the service life of the assembly. Media flowing through the valve contact only DURAN® borosilicate glass 3.3 and PTFE; the polished stopcock surface enables entirely grease-free operation. The compact, handy construction permits straightforward dismantling for cleaning or maintenance. Offered as a glass article for further processing, this angle valve provides a cost-effective solution for dosing and controlling gases and liquids in laboratory apparatus. It is particularly suited to flow-control duties that do not demand the lowest possible leak rates. This DURAN® component from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences combines chemical resistance with practical handling characteristics for everyday glassware systems. Supplied in a pack of 1 pc with a net weight of 0,033 kg, it integrates readily into custom laboratory set-ups requiring reliable yet simple flow regulation.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about DURAN® 90° Valve, ''GU''

What is this article?

DURAN® 90° Valve, ''GU'' is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
