DURAN® culture tubes with DIN thread and screw cap made of PBT are borosilicate glass 3.3 vessels intended for the in-vitro cultivation of animal and plant cells in a nutrient medium, an essential element of modern microbiological research. These original DURAN® culture tubes, sized Ø 12 × 100 mm with GL 14 thread and a nominal volume of 0,006 l, stand out through their uniform wall thickness distribution, which results in minimal thermal expansion and consequently high thermal shock resistance. They are therefore especially suited to work at very high temperatures and with rapid temperature changes. Featuring a DIN thread and PBT screw cap for airtight closure, together with a PTFE-coated silicone seal that ensures high tightness, the tubes support cultivation, storage and transport of small liquid quantities. Available in a pack of 50 pieces from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, they are used for growing microorganisms, storing and transporting small liquid volumes as well as sterile cultures, and for cell culture work under sterile conditions in biosafety cabinets and clean-air hoods.
