Description
DURAN® insert for GL 18 screw closure with an inner diameter of 3,2 mm (1/8 inch) belongs to the flexible modular GLS 80® connection cap system intended for the transfer of liquids or gases. The system accommodates five tubing diameters (3,2 mm; 6,0 mm; 8,0 mm; 10,0 mm and 12,0 mm), enabling precise matching to process requirements. Sterile pressure equalization can be realised by adding a syringe membrane filter, and any unused ports are closed with a blank GL 18 PBT cap. Manufactured from PP, PTFE and EPDM, the modular concept allows free combination of components according to application. This single-piece insert from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences fits all GLS 80 threads and is therefore widely applicable. Common uses encompass liquid transfer, media supply to bioreactors, reagent delivery to instruments and operation of photobioreactors. The insert provides a secure, leak-resistant tubing interface for laboratory and pilot-scale fluid handling with wide-neck vessels.

Questions about DURAN® GLS 80 Connection Cap System, wide mouth (accessories & replacement
What is this article?
DURAN® GLS 80 Connection Cap System, wide mouth (accessories & replacement is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.
A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.
A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
