Description

DURAN® high-temperature screw cap and pouring ring in red combines a PBT screw closure with an ETFE pouring ring for GL 32 laboratory bottles. High tightness is achieved by a PTFE-coated silicone gasket based on peroxide-crosslinked silicone, giving efficient sealing and better chemical resistance than a standard polypropylene closure. The PTFE coating further supports chemical durability, while the matching red ETFE pouring ring enables clean, drip-free working. From manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the set is suited to autoclaving of media and reagents, media and reagent preparation, dry-heat sterilisation, applications under pressure, storage of corrosive reagents, chemical and thermal reactions, long-term storage and archiving of media and reagents, sampling, transport and shipping. Supplied as 1 piece, the red high-temperature components are specified for GL 32 threads. Net and gross weight are each 0,001 kg. The non-sterile accessory supports demanding bottle handling where thermal and chemical performance matter.

This article is part of Screw caps & closures, in Stoppers, caps & closures.

Questions about DURAN® High Temperature Screw Cap and Pouring Ring (PBT, ETFE, red)

What is this article?

DURAN® High Temperature Screw Cap and Pouring Ring (PBT, ETFE, red) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
