Description

DURAN® intensive condenser NS 24/29, 250 mm combines the cooling characteristics of a Liebig condenser with those of a Dimroth condenser to achieve a very large cooling surface. An internal cooling spiral plus an outer jacket enable efficient condensation of vapours from low-boiling reaction mixtures, making the unit especially suitable for distillation and reflux work with volatile solvents. Two detachable plastic olives provide convenient coolant inlet and outlet connections, and standard ground joints ensure a tight seal. Produced from borosilicate glass 3.3 by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the condenser offers high chemical resistance and thermal durability for demanding laboratory applications. It functions effectively as a reflux condenser, returning condensed solvent vapours to the reaction mixture, and supports general distillation setups. All intensive condensers of this type are special sizes outside DIN. Supplied as one piece, this 250 mm NS 24/29 model delivers reliable performance wherever high cooling capacity is required.

Questions about DURAN® Jacketed Coil Condenser, standard ground joints, plastic hose connections

What is this article?

DURAN® Jacketed Coil Condenser, standard ground joints, plastic hose connections is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
