DURAN® Liebig Condenser (West Condenser), NS 24/29, 250 mm is a classic laboratory condenser used for the distillation of reaction mixtures. The unit consists of a central tube fitted with standard ground joints at both ends and surrounded by a glass jacket. Cooling water is passed through the jacket according to the countercurrent principle to improve cooling efficiency. It features a relatively small cooling surface and therefore moderate cooling capacity, together with two detachable plastic olives for coolant inlet and outlet that ensure convenient connection of the cooling medium. The ground joints provide a tight seal. Typical applications include product cooling for distillate separation, general distillation work and countercurrent cooling. Condensers of 250 mm length with NS 14/23, NS 24/29 or NS 29/32 joints are special sizes outside DIN. Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3 by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this single-piece condenser offers chemical resistance and thermal stability for reliable performance in organic synthesis, analytical and preparative laboratory workflows requiring controlled condensation.
