Description

DURAN® measuring cylinder in tall form without graduations is laboratory glassware for receiving and simultaneous measurement of different liquid quantities in line with DIN EN ISO 4788. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3, the 100 ml cylinder features a spout that supports safe, accurate pouring of solutions. Its large hexagonal base with three knobs on the underside raises standing stability and prevents the cylinder from rolling away. Uniform wall-thickness distribution over the full measuring range avoids wedge errors. These uncalibrated glass articles without graduations or embossing are suited to adjustment and printing work as well as to measuring and mixing liquids. Supplied by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the cylinders come in packs of 10 pieces with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a net weight of 0,108 kg per unit. The design meets the dimensional and functional expectations of the referenced standard while remaining free of scale markings for flexible laboratory use.

This article is part of Measuring cylinders, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about DURAN® Measuring Cylinder, tall form, without graduation, for DIN EN ISO 4788

What is this article?

DURAN® Measuring Cylinder, tall form, without graduation, for DIN EN ISO 4788 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.

A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.

Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
