Description

DURAN® mixing cylinder with hexagonal base, class A accuracy, blue graduations and batch certificate is designed for precise dilution of solutions and mixing of multiple liquid components in defined volume ratios. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3, the 10 ml cylinder is calibrated to contain (In) at a reference temperature of +20 °C and features a uniform wall thickness that helps avoid wedge errors across the measuring range. A large hexagonal foot with three base nubs improves standing stability and prevents rolling. The cylinder is supplied with a polyethylene octagonal stopper that seals via a standard ground joint NS 10/19. Permanent blue printed graduations with line division ensure clear volume reading. From manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this mixing cylinder supports volumetric work, solution preparation and multi-component mixing in analytical and research laboratories. Pack of 2 pieces.

This article is part of Mixing cylinders, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about DURAN® Mixing Cylinder, hexagonal base, Class B, white scale, with graduation

What is this article?

DURAN® Mixing Cylinder, hexagonal base, Class B, white scale, with graduation is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Mixing cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.

A mixing cylinder is a graduated cylinder with a stopper, so a dilute solution can be shaken in the vessel it was measured in. It is coarser than a volumetric flask and more convenient when many dilutions are made by hand.

Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
