Description
DURAN® mixing cylinders without stopper and graduations are uncalibrated glass vessels intended for diluting solutions and mixing multiple components in defined ratios. This 10 ml version is manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3 and features a standard ground joint NS 10/19 together with a large hexagonal base fitted with three base knobs that improve standing stability and prevent the cylinder from rolling away. Uniform wall thickness distribution across the full measuring range helps avoid wedge errors during use. Supplied without stopper, graduations or embossing, the cylinder is suitable for the requirements of DIN EN ISO 4788 and can be completed with either DURAN® hexagonal hollow stoppers or PE stoppers according to laboratory preference. These mixing cylinders from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences support adjustment and printing workflows as well as general mixing of several components. The stable hexagonal foot design ensures reliable bench-top performance when preparing multi-component mixtures under routine laboratory conditions.
This article is part of Mixing cylinders, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about DURAN® Mixing Cylinder, without stopper and graduation, for DIN EN ISO 4788
What is this article?
DURAN® Mixing Cylinder, without stopper and graduation, for DIN EN ISO 4788 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Mixing cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.
A mixing cylinder is a graduated cylinder with a stopper, so a dilute solution can be shaken in the vessel it was measured in. It is coarser than a volumetric flask and more convenient when many dilutions are made by hand.
Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
