Description

DUROPLAN® Petri dish Ø 100 x 22 mm is a flat, round, transparent culture vessel with matching lid designed for the cultivation of microorganisms on gel-like nutrient media. The firm gel prevents mixing of organisms and permits formation of larger colonies. Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3 by a specialised process, the dish from Duran/DWK Life Sciences ensures even nutrient-medium distribution together with distortion-free viewing. Base and lid are microscopically plane both inside and outside and are free of bubbles and striae. Direct seating of the lid on the base suppresses turbulence in the headspace, making the vessel well suited to extended incubations, high-temperature work or delicate culture media. Delivered as one piece, it is used for growth and cultivation of microorganisms, culture on solid gel nutrient bases, microscopy of microbial preparations and cell-culture procedures. Optical clarity and dimensional consistency support reliable observation and reproducible results in microbiology and cell-biology laboratories.

Questions about DUROPLAN® Petri Dish, lid and base with planar surface, bubbles and streaks free

What is this article?

DUROPLAN® Petri Dish, lid and base with planar surface, bubbles and streaks free is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Petri dishes, inside Culture media & microbiology, in Microbiology lab supplies.

A Petri dish is the shallow lidded plate agar is poured into, or a sample is placed in. Diameter and whether it is vented, and whether it arrives sterile and empty or already filled, are the choices. A 90 mm dish is the ordinary one. Slippable lids and vented lids differ in how they dry a plate.

A culture medium is the food and the solid or liquid home of a microorganism. Dehydrated media are powders the laboratory dissolves and sterilises. Ready-to-use plates and tubes are already that. A Petri dish is the plate. Selective media let one kind of organism grow and hold another back. The formulation and the supplements, not the colour of the agar, are the specification. Reference strains are at ATCC. Methods are on PubMed. Biosafety practice is the WHO laboratory biosafety topic.
