Description
The Barium electrode DX337 is an ion-selective electrode (ISE) with polymer membrane intended for barium ion determination in analytical laboratories. Designed as a modular half-cell, it consists of a common shaft and an ion-specific membrane module that can be exchanged by screwing on the appropriate membrane kit. Each ISE and membrane module undergoes wet-chemical testing against rigorous procedures that include multiple direct measurements and a typical titration application. A serial number is assigned to every electrode and a quality certificate is enclosed. The shaft is made of POM/PVC and supports a temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, a measuring range of 1,0 to 1,0E-05 mol/L and an optimal pH window of 2 to 12. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,2 kg, the DX337 barium half-cell from manufacturer Mettler-Toledo OnLine is suited to ion-selective measurement tasks. Because the shaft is shared across the half-cell family, laboratories can convert to other ions simply by changing the membrane module.

Questions about DX337-Ba ISE half-cell electrode
What is this article?
DX337-Ba ISE half-cell electrode is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Mettler-Toledo OnLine for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
