Description

ElectraSyn Electrode Starter Kit is a ready-to-use collection of the most common electrodes for investigating diverse electrochemical reactions. The set comprises eight electrode types supplied as twelve pieces each, with glassy carbon included as two pieces. Carbon-based materials are especially useful for C–C and C–N bond-forming synthesis. Graphite SK-50 electrodes provide a cost-effective carbon option with fundamental carbon-material characteristics, while RVC (reticulated vitreous carbon) foam electrodes offer an enlarged surface area that improves electron efficiency. Glassy carbon electrodes are metal-free carbon electrodes with a uniform surface. Electrode choice depends on whether the intended reaction is an oxidation or a reduction; additional electrodes for further reaction optimisation are available separately as accessories. This starter kit from manufacturer IKA supports ElectraSyn laboratory workflows and enables rapid screening of electrode materials under typical synthetic conditions. Boron-doped diamond and platinum electrodes are offered as optional accessories for more demanding reaction environments.

Questions about ElectraSyn Electrode Starter Kit, Kit of 8 electrodes, 12 pcs. each (glassy carb

What is this article?

ElectraSyn Electrode Starter Kit, Kit of 8 electrodes, 12 pcs. each (glassy carb is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Titrators & electrochemistry systems, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A titrator adds a reagent and watches an electrode until an endpoint, then calculates the amount. It is a burette, a stirrer and a meter in one. The electrode and the reagent concentration still decide the result. A manual titration is the same chemistry without the automation.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
