With dimensions of 20 mm diameter and 180 mm length plus a nominal volume of 45 ml, the tube is produced from borosilicate glass 3.3. The thin-walled design makes it resistant to sudden temperature fluctuations and localised heating, and the beaded rim simplifies pouring. An in-fired white print remains permanently legible. Suitable for reaction monitoring, test series and sample work where only small amounts of material are required, it enables conversion of substances and liquids into other aggregate states to start subsequent reactions.
