Description
pH electrode for meat with 1 m cable and BNC connector is a PVDF-bodied sensor built for direct measurements in meat and semi-frozen food matrices. It measures from pH 0 to 12 and features an open junction with Viscolene electrolyte and a single Ag/AgCl reference. The conical tip measures 6 mm × 10 mm, supporting penetration into solid or semi-solid samples. For easier insertion into firm products, the electrode can optionally be fitted with stainless-steel piercing blades FC098 or FC099. A coaxial 1 m cable terminates in a BNC connector; the design has neither a built-in temperature sensor nor an amplifier. Recommended operating temperature is 0 to 50 °C at a maximum pressure of 0,1 bar. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, this electrode is intended for food laboratories and production QC where robust contact with meat and related samples is required. Net weight is 0,15 kg.

Questions about Foodcare pH Electrode for Meat and Semi-Frozen Products with BNC Connector
What is this article?
Foodcare pH Electrode for Meat and Semi-Frozen Products with BNC Connector is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
