Description
Centrifuge tubes, graduated, with screw cap and freestanding base, 50 ml, are conical polypropylene (PP) tubes for routine sample preparation, storage and high-speed centrifugation. Each tube combines a conical bottom with a freestanding skirt so it stands upright on the bench without a rack. Nominal volume is 50 ml (0,05 l). Dimensions are tube diameter 29 mm, height 115 mm and screw-cap diameter 33,5 mm. The tubes are sterilized by ethylene oxide and are rated for centrifugation up to 12000 × g; they have also passed a pressure test at 95 kPa. Clear graduation marks support volume estimation during pipetting and aliquoting. Supplied in a pack of 500 pieces from manufacturer Labbox, these PP tubes suit molecular biology, clinical chemistry, cell culture work-up and general laboratory workflows where sterile, screw-capped, freestanding 50 ml centrifuge tubes are required. A sterilization certificate is available as a free download from the manufacturer.

Questions about Graduated Centrifuge tubes with skirt and blue screw cap, 50 ml, PP, 10x50 pcs
What is this article?
Graduated Centrifuge tubes with skirt and blue screw cap, 50 ml, PP, 10x50 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Centrifuge tubes (conical), inside Tubes & vials, in Labware.
A centrifuge tube is conical so a pellet collects at the tip, and it is rated for a relative centrifugal force. A 15 mL tube and a 50 mL tube are different rotors. Polypropylene is the ordinary plastic. The cap has to survive the same force as the tube.
A tube holds a small sample upright. A test tube is the open glass or plastic cylinder. A centrifuge tube is conical so a pellet forms at the tip, and it is rated for a centrifugal force the rotor will actually reach. A vial is a small closed bottle, often for a sample that will sit in an instrument. NMR tubes are a special case: the glass has to be uniform or the spectrum is the tube, not the sample. Laboratory ware is listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
