Description

GS3-E EC electrode for GroStar GS3 is the replacement conductivity electrode for the GroStar™ GS3 meter and is also compatible with the GroStar™ GS4. It measures electrical conductivity (EC), 500 ppm, 700 ppm and temperature in a single probe. The titanium-alloy sensor combines high measurement accuracy with excellent durability, supporting fast and reliable conductivity readings in nutrient solutions and related media. Cell constant K=1 covers the conductivity range 0 to 10 mS/cm. An integrated 30 kΩ thermistor enables simultaneous temperature measurement from 0 to 50 °C. The compact polycarbonate housing measures 75 × 35 × 35 mm and the electrode can be fitted quickly without additional tools. Designed for the GroStar™ series from manufacturer APERA Instruments, this electrode is intended for routine laboratory and horticultural conductivity monitoring and carries a 12-month manufacturer warranty.

Questions about GS3-E EC Electrode for GroStar GS3

What is this article?

GS3-E EC Electrode for GroStar GS3 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
