IKA MIXSTER SET 4 is a multi-position magnetic stirrer with four compact magnetic drives for versatile laboratory mixing. Each drive operates as a powerful single-position magnetic stirrer for up to 5 litres at a maximum of 3000 rpm and viscosities up to 500 mPas. Additional IKA TWISTER stirring units allow expansion to as many as 30 positions, controllable separately or together via the leader-follower principle. The TW.IX attachment turns a drive into a nine-position stirrer for small vessels (8–60 ml), while the TW.VX attachment provides vortex or orbital shaking. A chemically resistant 360° LED glass display shows speed or power demand without alphanumeric characters, supporting intuitive monitoring of viscosity changes. Mixing can be started by button or by placing or touching the vessel through integrated beaker detection; a reverse function alternates direction at set intervals for difficult samples. High protection class IP 66 permits cleaning under a tap and operation in incubators up to 40 °C. The compact design from manufacturer IKA received the Red Dot Award 2022 and suits laboratories with limited bench space. The supplied power supply is rated for up to four devices.
