Description

IoT-Line compact laboratory balance KERN PCB 300-2 is a laboratory standard built for the broad possibilities of Industry 4.0 workflows. It is compatible with school-specific software such as Vernier® or LabQuest® and, via the KERN School Protocol, can transfer weighing data over the USB data interface to a PC or laptop for evaluation and visualisation during technical experiments. The integrated KERN Universal Port (KUP) from manufacturer Kern accepts plug-on interface adapters such as RS-232, USB, Bluetooth, WLAN or Ethernet, so interfaces can be retrofitted without opening the housing or complex installation. With the Extension Box KERN KUP-13, up to three KUP adapters can operate in parallel. The KERN Communication Protocol (KCP) supports querying and remote control from external controllers or computers. A unified operating concept includes PRE-TARE for known container weights, a recipe function for multi-component mixtures with total-weight recall, checkweighing with an optical signal for portioning, dosing or sorting, and freely programmable weighing units (for example g/m or g/m²). An anti-shock system between pan and load cell reduces vibration for faster, more reliable results. A protective working cover is included in the scope of delivery.

Questions about IoT-Line Compact Laboratory Balance KERN, PCB 300-2

What is this article?

IoT-Line Compact Laboratory Balance KERN, PCB 300-2 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.

A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.

A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
