Description
LabSen 843 combined pH/temperature electrode is engineered for accurate pH measurement in strongly basic solutions in the 10–14 pH range. Built with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from manufacturer APERA Instruments, it integrates a temperature sensor that enables automatic temperature compensation. The specialised LabSen HA glass membrane improves accuracy and reproducibility in strong bases while minimising alkali error. Its hemispherical membrane is highly impact-resistant—up to ten times more robust than conventional designs—substantially reducing breakage risk. A silver-ion-trap reference system works with the long-life reference to prevent diaphragm blockage or contamination by silver sulphide. Blue gel electrolyte remains immobile and avoids air-bubble formation. The lead-free glass shaft measures Ø12 × 120 mm and incorporates a ceramic diaphragm. Measuring range covers 1–14 pH; recommended operating temperature is 0–130 °C. Electrolyte and storage solution are both 3M KCl. Connection is BNC for the pH channel and RCA for the 30 kΩ NTC temperature sensor via a Ø5 mm × 1 m cable. The BNC interface suits a wide range of compatible laboratory meters. Supplied as one piece.

Questions about LabSen 843 combined pH/Temp. Electrode, for Strong Base Solutions
What is this article?
LabSen 843 combined pH/Temp. Electrode, for Strong Base Solutions is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
