Description
LabSen 853-H pH/temperature electrode combines precise pH sensing with integrated temperature measurement for highly viscous samples of strongly basic character or high temperature. The LabSen HA glass membrane provides enhanced accuracy and reproducibility in strong alkaline solutions (pH 10–14) while minimising alkali error. Its hemispherical form is robust and highly shock-resistant—up to ten times more durable than conventional membranes—reducing breakage risk. A pre-pressurized reference system ensures uniform electrolyte flow through the junction even in high-viscosity media, enabling dependable readings. The silver-ion-trap reference helps prevent contamination and supports longer service life. Built with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from APERA Instruments, the electrode uses gel KCl electrolyte, a ceramic diaphragm and a lead-free glass shaft (Ø12 × 120 mm). Dual connection is provided: BNC for pH and RCA (Cinch) for the integrated 30 kΩ NTC temperature sensor, allowing automatic temperature compensation on compatible meters. Cable diameter is Ø5 mm × 1 m. Measuring range is 0–14 pH; recommended operating temperature is 0–130 °C.

Questions about LabSen 853-H pH/Temp. Electrode, for Highly Viscous & Basic/High-Temp.
What is this article?
LabSen 853-H pH/Temp. Electrode, for Highly Viscous & Basic/High-Temp. is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
